Youtube Do You Want to Continue Watching
With over 2 billion monthly active users and a billion+ daily watch hours, YouTube is the most popular online video sharing platform. And, its popularity is touching new heights with each passing day. While YouTube is certainly one of the most useful apps on our phones, it can irritate users when the app automatically pauses the video and throws pop-ups containing messages like "video Paused. Continue Watching?" or "Are You Still Watching" on your screen.
Although we can resume the video with just a single click on the screen or a single button press on the remote (in case you are accessing YouTube on Android TV), it becomes stressful while we are busy doing some work. You'll have to come back multiple to your device to resume the video. It's pretty common to receive the message when playing videos in the background. To make things easier for you we've created this guide to turn off such pop-ups from appearing on your Android or computer.

Why is YouTube showing you the "Are You Still Watching?" message?
YouTube pays content creators for showing ads on their videos. For every ad you see on YouTube, the video creator gets paid. So, if you leave YouTube on a continuous play without doing any activity for more than a good amount of time, the algorithms think you are not watching the video. That's why it asks you to confirm that you are actually seeing the video.
If the video gets stopped, YouTube will not show any ads. And thus, it saves the advertising cost of the ad publisher. Leave ad publisher, this feature is also useful for us. Suppose, you've slept or gone somewhere after clicking on a video, by the time you would know this, your entire internet data and the battery juice are likely to have gone at the end. But, this feature will automatically stop the video after a fixed amount of time, which will save your internet data and battery too.
